The poverty of politics

Real politics:

This blog shows the truth of local politics - councillors posing outside shocking potholes THAT THEY HAVE FOUND AND ASKED OFFICIALS TO FIX!

What will socialists do about the potholes, our putative electors would ask. We pointed to the bloody shovels, and let them work it out for themselves....

Your post reminds me of an exchange at Speakers' Corner. It goes something like:

"[To black speaker]: Why do you bring everything back to the colour of your skin?"

"You could never understand because of the colour of YOUR skin."

"And what colour is it? I can't see from here."

"You see? Always the black man has to do the work..."

I think I fucked that anecdote up, not sure it makes sense like that! Damned ageing memory. We should have the speaker saying something like:

"Now, you tell me the colour of your skin."

"No, you tell me. I can't see from here."

"You see? Always the black man has to do the work..."
